Mr. Nagappan Promoted as CEO of JML

The JML Board of Directors, appointed Mr. Nagappan Sathappan as Chief Executive Officer of JML with effect from 25th July 2011. Mr. Anwardeen named Mr. Nagappan as his successor who worked with him for 20 years and contributed for the growth of JML since its establishment in year 2000

Specialist appointed for Boiler Maintenance

Mr. Toshiyuki Igi is retired Boiler expert from IHI Corporation, Japan.
On successful completion of 40 years service in IHI, Mr. Igi joined JEL Maintenance Pte Ltd, Singapore as Technical advisor since October 2009. He is well experienced in construction, maintenance and revamping of coal, oil & gas fired boilers. Mr Igi is also specialized in commissioning of boilers.

Successful completion of Sakra Nitric Acid Plant
Project: Sakra Nitric Acid Plant

Project Duration: Aug 2008 – Jun 2009

Scope of Work:

Outside Battery Limit (OSBL-Brown Field) works:

  • Tie-in works at Ammonia tank area and rack piping at ammonia process area fulfilling brown field critical requirements with various constraints like space, time, cost and minimum shutdown time.
  • Utility piping on the live Pipe-rack and Underground piping (24”) works including excavation, back filling, wrapping & coating - 13000 Dia Inch
  • Supply & installation of Cement lining for Sea water piping (20”) at Invista jetty (using Barge Crane)
  • Installation of Sea water Cooling Pumps at Invista jetty using Barge Crane

Inside Battery Limit (ISBL) Works:

  • Structure design, supply, fabrication for 42 meter high Absorber tower and for other equipments & platforms –90 tons.
  • Absorber tower (42 meter in height) Scaffolding installation & dismantling by fulfilling special PE design and safety requirements.
  • Heavy lifting:
  • Air Compressor 44 tons  and its peripheral equipments installation inside   Compressor building,
  • Exhaust Stack 42 meter in height,
  • Waste Heat Boiler – 35 Tons
  • Other equipments (67 nos) of total quantifying to 230 MT.
  • Complete installation of Waste Heat Boiler piping & Hydro testing and commissioning with PE/AE services.
  • CS & SS piping works including support, insulation & painting – 23000 Dia Inch.
  • HVAC works for Compressor room, Rotor room & Control room.
  • Scaffolding works on existing/new pipe racks for mechanical & piping works.
  • Piping & cable tray support installation – 20 Tons.
  • Fire fighting system installation.
  • Machining & overhauling of Refurbished Cooling Condenser unit.

Schedule & Manpower

  • Schedule – Entire Project was completed in 10 months successfully without LTI.

Manpower – At peak, 260 personals were in involved in this project.

Successful completion of Tuas Power Scope Project

Project: Tuas Power Scope

Project Duration: Aug 2009 – Aug 2010

Scope of Work:

  • Heavy lifting and installation of 2 boiler packages with 2 stacks
  • Heavy lifting & installation of 3 sea water booster pumps, 2 main diesel transfer pumps, 1 diesel recirculation pump
  • Heavy lifting & installation of 3 loading arms at the new jetty and 1 loading arm at existing jetty
  • Modification of Pipe lines at jetty, diesel tank areas
  • Emptying & cleaning of diesel tanks & pipe lines
  • Modification of diesel tanks
  • Modification of Fuel oil line at jetty
  • Jetty scaffolding (700mtrs long)
  • Scaffolding inside tank surface (60mtr Dia x 12 mtrs height x 2nos)
  • Brown field pipe rack scaffolding

Heavy lifting works of Boilers & its allied equipments (75 Tons x 2 nos) transported from Jurong & PSA sea port 

Boiler Area:

  • Erection/installation of two boiler packages with all auxiliary/sub equipments & subassemblies, its support structures and two stacks.
  • Fabrication, erection and installation of all interconnecting pipe lines/piping within the battery limit.
  • Installation of flue gas ducts between boilers and individual stacks, complete with supports, platforms and accessories with insulation.
  • Pre-commissioning of Boilers and commissioning support.

Sea Water Booster Pump Area:

  • Installation of 3 nos of sea water booster pumps
  • Installation of electrical hoist
  • Fabrication and installation of 32”/40” Glass Reinforced Pipe (GRP) line for suction line from sea water intake (downstream), up to pump suction nozzle.
  • Fabrication and installation of 32” GRP line for discharge line
  • Pre-commissioning of Sea Water Booster pumps and commissioning support.

Jetty Area:

  • Disinvestment & Modification of the existing 20” & 24” Fuel Oil lines, which includes emptying of the fuel oil in the lines to the respective tank, chemical cleaning and degassing work.
  • Installation of sump and drain pumps.
  • Installation of 4 Loading Arms, including connection of hydraulic system to the power rack
  • Pre-commissioning & commissioning support.

Diesel Tank Area:

  • Emptying of residual diesel from the 24” diesel line and transferring to tanks.
  • Chemical cleaning, de-sludge, degassing of the entire tanks (2 nos).
  • Modification on all interconnection pipe lines for diesel pumps and tanks.
  • Installation of diesel oil pumps.

Fire Protection System: Supply, installation, commissioning and authority submission of:

  • Fire water supply line from Tuas Power fire main ring to Neste Oil Plant battery limit.
  • Fire hydrant line from sea water booster pump area to boiler area.
  • Fire water foam line from existing jetty to new jetty.
  • Installation of Bladder tank and associated piping and instruments.
  • Fire hydrants
  • Portable Fire extinguishers

Successful completion of The Halfdan B Phase IV Development Project

Project: The Halfdan B Phase IV Development Project

Project Duration: April 2009 – April 2010

Scope of Work:

  • Halfdan project is one of the fast track project executed with high quality & safety standards. This module was to be installed for offshore of North sea.
  • Total Piping of 70,000 Dia Inch & relevant Pipe support fabrication and installation works for topside modules & Bridges.
  • Piping Material for the whole project was Low Temperature Carbon Steel (LTCS).
  • Manpower of 5 Engineers, 10 Supervisors & 200 front end work forces were involved in successfully completing this project.
